A tribute to Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, born in the small town of Tsalenjikha in Samegrelo (western Georgia) and captain of the Georgia national football team. During UEFA Euro 2024, he played a key role in leading Georgia to the Round of 16 in the country’s first-ever appearance at a major international tournament.

In Georgia, he played for FC Dinamo Batumi at the highest national level. He made his international breakthrough at SSC Napoli, one of the most prestigious and successful clubs in Italy, where he immediately won the Serie A title and established himself as one of the league’s standout players.

Today, Kvaratskhelia plays as a left winger for Paris Saint-Germain and is regarded as one of the most exciting attacking players in Europe. After winning two Serie A titles with Napoli, he moved to Paris in 2025, where he added further major trophies, including the UEFA Champions League. In 2026, he was named UEFA Champions League Player of the Season after leading Paris Saint-Germain to a second consecutive European triumph.

Ein Tribut an Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, geboren in der Kleinstadt Tsalenjikha in Samegrelo (Westgeorgien) und Kapitän der georgischen Fußballnationalmannschaft. Bei der UEFA Europameisterschaft 2024 spielte er eine Schlüsselrolle und führte Georgien bei seiner ersten Teilnahme an einem großen internationalen Turnier ins Achtelfinale.

In Georgien spielte er für FC Dinamo Batumi auf höchstem nationalem Niveau. Seinen internationalen Durchbruch feierte er beim SSC Neapel, einem der prestigeträchtigsten und erfolgreichsten Vereine Italiens, wo er sofort die italienische Meisterschaft gewann und sich als einer der herausragenden Spieler der Serie A etablierte.

Heute spielt Kvaratskhelia als Linksaußen für Paris Saint-Germain und gilt als einer der spektakulärsten Offensivspieler Europas. Nach zwei Meisterschaften in der Serie A mit SSC Neapel wechselte er 2025 nach Paris und gewann dort weitere bedeutende Titel, darunter die UEFA Champions League. Im Jahr 2026 wurde er zum Spieler der UEFA Champions League der Saison gewählt, nachdem er Paris Saint-Germain zum zweiten europäischen Triumph in Folge geführt hatte.

With this artwork, we congratulate our pride, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, on yet another remarkable achievement. Once again, he has brought joy to and inspired the entire nation of Georgia. This mural was created in his hometown of Tsalenjikha together with the German artist Case Maclaim, one of the leading figures and pioneers of contemporary German street art. It was also a wonderful coincidence that the wall chosen for Khvicha's portrait is located at 7 Kvaratskhelia Street. We hope that this mural will encourage many more talented and determined young people - not only in Tsalenjikha, but throughout Georgia. It is especially meaningful that the artwork stands next to the football field where local youngsters play every day. We would like to express our sincere gratitude to Khvicha's family for their genuine Mingrelian hospitality. The project was implemented with the support of the Ministry of Culture of Georgia.

Mit diesem Kunstwerk gratulieren wir unserem stolzen Khvicha Kvaratskhelia zu einem weiteren großen Erfolg. Er hat ganz Georgien erneut Freude bereitet und viele Menschen inspiriert. Das Wandbild entstand in seiner Heimatstadt Tsalenjikha gemeinsam mit dem deutschen Künstler Case Maclaim, einem der bedeutendsten Vertreter und Pioniere der zeitgenössischen deutschen Street Art. Eine besondere und schöne Fügung war, dass sich die Wand, auf der Khvicha porträtiert wurde, ausgerechnet in der Kvaratskhelia Straße 7 befindet. Wir hoffen, dass dieses Murale viele weitere talentierte und zielstrebige junge Menschen ermutigen wird - nicht nur in Tsalenjikha, sondern in ganz Georgien. Besonders erfreulich ist, dass sich das Kunstwerk direkt neben dem Fußballplatz befindet, auf dem Jugendliche täglich spielen und trainieren.
