I have chosen to focus on traditional Georgian national clothing as I believe it is one of the most vital elements of our culture.

Georgian national attire is remarkably diverse, reflecting the distinct historical, geographical, and social traditions of the country’s various highland and lowland regions. The most iconic element for men is the Chokha. Women’s traditional dress, such as the Kartuli is characterized by exquisite embroidery, intricate silk belts, and the graceful lechaki head covering. A defining feature of these costumes is the wide variety of traditional headgear, including the iconic Svanetian svanuri cap, the high-crowned khevsuruli, and the large, woolen papakhi worn in colder mountain areas. Ultimately, these garments serve as a vibrant visual language, preserving the artistic identity and pride of Georgian culture through generations.
