Mural Fest

Das Fest Gviriloba - auch bekannt als "Tag der Gänseblümchen" bzw. "Tag der Stadt Kutaisi" - wird jährlich am 2. Mai in Kutaisi gefeiert.

Der Name leitet sich vom georgischen Wort "გვრილა" ("gvirila" = Gänseblümchen) ab: Anfang des 20. Jahrhunderts verkauften Schülerinnen in Kutaisi Gänseblümchen, um Geld für Tuberkulose-Patienten zu sammeln.

An diesem Tag finden in Kutaisi kulturelle und musikalische Straßenevents statt. Es gibt zahlreiche Marktstände mit regionalen Spezialitäten und Wein sowie symbolischer Blumenschmuck in der ganzen Stadt.
